The Fayette County Technical Rescue Team is sponsoring a FREE accredited CPR certification and recertification class on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 and Thursday, March 18, 2010 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Piperton branch of The Bank of Fayette County (located at the corner of Highway 57 and State Route 196).  The class is free, and open to the public and local emergency responders who need to obtain CPR certification and/or recertify in this invaluable skill.

“One of the missions of the FCTRT (once fully operational) is to not only provide free technical rescue assistance when and wherever it is requested by local emergency response agencies but also to provide free community education programs to both the citizens of Fayette County and its local emergency responders such as this class.” said Major Brandon Bagwell, the FCTRT’s Executive Officer. “Sometimes we forget we aren’t in this alone and by reaching out and helping others prepare for emergencies before they occur is a major part of what we intend to do. Helping to teach these classes and presenting free training, like CPR certification and re-certification for the general public and emergency responders, will help make our community a safer place to reside. We intend to demonstrate our willingness and commitment to serve the residents and emergency response agencies of Fayette County, not just by our responses, but through outreach programs as well.”

If you are interested in attending the free CPR certification and/or recertification class please contact Commander Snider at (901) 496-6800 or Major Bagwell at (901) 258-9068 as space in the class will be limited and if you want more information about the FCTRT please go to their website at www.technicalrescueteam.com.
