Our Team is Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

With the recent opening of its new headquarters and training facility in Rossville, the Fayette County Technical Rescue Team is searching for a few good men and women to expand their Rescue Squad.

“Our Team is currently looking to add about five to six additional Operations Members, two additional rescue divers for our Dive Unit, and one to two additional Auxiliary Members who may not be interested in the rigorous training schedule required for Operations Members,” said Commander Kevin Snider.  “With the substantial additional space available to us in our new facility, this is a great time to continue the growth and expansion of our all volunteer Team,” commented Snider.

Operations Members must be at least eighteen years of age, be willing to submit to a full background check, be willing to submit to a drug screen, and have a strong desire and commitment to technical rescue in the emergency services.  A background in emergency services is preferred but not necessarily required and the individual must be willing to complete both external and internal training in the various technical rescue disciplines that the Team responds to.

Dive Unit Members must be at least eighteen years of age, be willing to submit to a full background check, be willing to submit to a drug screen, and have a strong desire and commitment to dive rescue and dive operations.  A background in diving is preferred but not necessarily required and the individual must be willing to complete both external training with Dive Rescue International as well as internal dive training with the Dive Unit.

Auxiliary Members must be at least eighteen years of age, be willing to submit to a full background check, be willing to submit to a drug screen, and have a strong desire to assist the Team in its operations and community outreach events.  No prior experience is necessary as these members will not be involved in the Team’s rigorous training schedule and operational deployments.

If you are interested in joining the Team, please feel free to contact the Team or come to one of the Team’s training sessions which are on the first and third Saturdays of each month beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m. at the Team’s headquarters located at 3565 Highway 57 in Rossville, Tennessee.
